Muslims not Bikers allowed in DC on 9.11

Labels: , , , ,

News came out stating the permit to allow 2 million bikers has been denied. However, the 1 million Muslim march has been approved for the same day. 2 Million Bikers have been driving through United States toward DC in an effort to be in DC on 9.11. The event was to pay homage to the deaths of American Citizens on the attack of 9.11. However, the permit for the event was denied by DC.

Reports from the Blaze states was initially told by Sheila Gotha, from the NPS permits division, the group’s permit was denied not for technical reasons, but because their event was slated for a week day “and D.C. residents aren’t going to like that.” The article goes on to say, Goth retracted and denied she knew or has anything to do with the decision.

Since the permit is denied, the bikers will not have a partitioned area in DC. Moving forward, they will still use their rights to drive through DC. Not having a dedicated trail to drive and location to be, the bikers will now drive through DC, obeying all traffic laws within DC. This will cause more congestion and noise, as opposed to approving the original permit, allowing the rally to take place within DC. Denying the permit does not equal cancellation of the movement.

To compound the issue, a permit was provided for the 1 million Muslim march for 9.11. Originally named “Million Muslim March”, their initial intent was to call for anti-bigotry toward Muslims. The purpose of the walk now has changed to requesting all individiduals and organizations to work for peace.

It does appear the Million Muslim March was proposed first, while the 2 Million Bikers were organized in protest. Regardless, the conversation is approving one, while denying the other. It looks to be busy in DC will having Muslims marching to the Mall while Bikers riding through on 9.11.

Regulators, mount up.
